10 Things You Should Always Have in Your Home

…And share kindly with those who visit you.
1. Fresh air. Moving air. Just not stale, lifeless air. Open the windows and revel.
2. A little bit of a mess. Because you live and function and should be busy pursuing more of #3 and the figurative half of #8.
3. Laughter. At the very least, something humorous. Friends count.
4. Coffee table books or ‘zines. Or side table books. Or console table books.. Or kitchen table ‘zines.. Hello, #2.
5. Flowers.
6. Something handmade. Pottery is my handmade zen must-have.
7. Sunlight.
8. Lemons. Literally and figuratively. If I had a number 11, it would be: a drink to offer guests. However, fresh lemon water covers this.  And if you have a sink or Brita and you’re all over #8, you’re set.
9. Something organic. Seashells, driftwood, plants, twigs, pebbles… Nature. Inside. And not limited to the shoe dirt on your front entry mat. Well, shoe dirt can stay there. You want pretty nature.
10. Photographs of you and your most favorite friends. Framed, tacked, clipped, or propped. Just visible, really. But framed seems pleasantly permanent, so I advocate this.

    • Those complementary colors… gotta love ’em. And the touches of coral – real coral just add such charm.
